The agricultural industry of the region consists of seven agricultural production cooperatives, six unitary agricultural companies, 11 agricultural subdivisions of the industrial companies.

The area of the agricultural lands makes up 69,612 hectares including 48,436 hectares of arable land.
Over 5,000 professionals are engaged in the agrarian sector.

The agricultural industry of the region specializes in cattle- and hog-breeding, poultry keeping, grain, potato, vegetable and flax cultivation.

There is a specialized hog-breeding complex for 108,000 head in the village of Loshitsa and a cattle-feeding complex for 3,500 head in the village of Novoselki.

The largest agricultural companies are: Borisov Hog Breeding Complex, Velyatichi Poultry Sovkhoz, the Staro-Borisov Company, the Kischino-Slobodskoi and Bolshiye Novoselki farms.
